  16. Goals for 2009-2012: Work cooperatively to develop new congregations in consultation with annual conferences and districts. Grants for New Faith Community / New Church start available Asian American Language Ministries (AALM)

  17. Develop language friendly and culturally appropriate materials, including audio- visual resources in the area of evangelism, Christian education, leadership development, stewardship, and worship. Equip and encourage Next Generation leadership in coping with current realities.

  18. Pacific Islander Ministry Study • Beginning in 2009 for a comprehensive ministry plan

  19. Goals for 2009-2012: Assist annual conferences in establishing new churches. Offer resource and support services to new and existing churches. Provide training consultation to annual conference committee on Native American Ministries. Collaborate with Native American Comprehensive National Plan Native American Ministries

  20. Produce new worship resources. Conduct lay speaking school, with special emphasis on youth.

  21. Goals for 2009-2012: Collaborations and partnerships supporting the development of African-American congregations as a part of new faith communities emphasis. Train clergy and laity through partnership church Black Church Ministries

  22. Racial Ethnic Local Church Grants Conference/District Racial Ethnic Strategic Planning Laity and Pastoral Training Scholarships Networking Collaborate with Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century Located at the General Board of Discipleship in Nashville, TN Resources

Identify 15 Town and Country churches in the United States that desire to revitalize their ministry of nurture, outreach and mission Offer strategic planning assistance to annual conferences Provide demographic research and analysis to annual conferences, districts and churches within the United States Work with the Town and Country Committee and annual conference missions staff to develop a list of appropriate churches for this program Utilize resources developed by the Town and Country Committee and/or The Discovery Church Journey to engage targeted churches in visioning, training and implementation of growth strategies Provide an evaluation process to determine the success of this goal Rural (Town & Country) Ministries

  24. Identify 12 urban churches in the United States that desire to revitalize their ministry of nurture, outreach and mission Offer strategic planning assistance to annual conferences Provide demographic research and analysis to annual conferences, districts and churches within the United States Work with the annual conference missions staff to develop a list of appropriate churches to involve in this process Utilize resources developed by the Urban Ministries Committee and/or The Discovery Church Journey to engage targeted churches in visioning, training and implementation of growth strategies Provide funding for new and innovative programs of mission outreach Provide an evaluation process to determine the success of this goal Urban Ministries

Start 10 multi-cultural churches Research the demographics within the United States to identify potential sites Work with the Network of Congregational Developers to identify potential areas for planting 10 new churches with the desire to develop intentional multi-cultural ministries Train clergy and lay leadership of the new church starts through the School of Congregational Development and other events. Provide financial assistance for the development of worship resources and outreach ministries that are intentionally multi-cultural Provide financial support for the new church starts Engage in a process of constant evaluation and enrichment to ensure the success of this venture. Accomplishments in 2005-2008: $1 Million matching fund campaign for new church starts 15 new Korean speaking congregations 7 new English speaking Korean-American ministries/campus ministries 14 existing congregations strengthened 42 national/regional projects for clergymen, clergywomen and lay leadership development. Korean-American National Plan

  28. Goals for 2009-2012: 12 new Korean speaking congregations 7 new English speaking Korean-American congregations Train 250 pastors and 1,000 lay persons for small group ministry

  29. Accomplishments in 2005-2008: 8 annual conferences received National Plan grants totaling $320,000 32 annual conferences have received other kinds of resources for Hispanic/Latino ministries. About 300 church school extension programs have been developed National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry

  30. Goals for 2009-2012: Charter 75 new Hispanic/Latino churches Form 500 new faith communities Accompany 100 congregations in the Congregational Mobilization process to revitalize ministries Social Justice and Immigration minitries National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry
