  1. Join and Network!!! The Air & Waste Management Association was founded in 1907 and has over 15,000 members in 58 countries. The mission of the Association is to promote a clean environment, provide leadership in the fields of air pollution control and waste management, promote a sense of environmental responsibility and serve its membership and public. The Association is subdivided into Sections and Chapters. The NCSU Chapter is a part of the South Atlantic Section and has been sponsored by the Research Triangle Chapter. • International AWMA Organization: Benefits of Membership: • Annual Meeting in late June of each year, includes student poster competition and other student activities • Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association – latest research • EM Magazine – latest news • Networking and job opportunities • Scholarships! • Student Chapter: Benefits of membership: • Seminars and speakers on topics ranging from career opportunities • to the latest research in leading areas • Community Service Involvement • FREE!!!!!! NCSU AWMA Student Chapter membership is open to all students at NCSU who have interest in environmental science and engineering pertaining to problems dealing with air, water, solid waste, groundwater, and soils, including both technical and policy aspects.
