WIM Mission Statement • WIM is dedicated to addressing topics of family, significant others, and work environments that affect both women and men.  • Our goal is to highlight topics relevant to both genders that are not typically discussed in other settings.  • It is not aimed at women only; we strive to attain cohesiveness between the genders and discuss issues that each faces both together and separately.

  3. Goals for Next Year • Increase female matriculation • Create a scholarship from WIM • Increase AMA and AMSA interaction • Increase female scholarship distribution • Increase awareness of women’s health issues and social and cultural expectations White Coat Ceremony

  4. Events for Next Year • Women’s Retreat in the fall • Admissions Breakfasts in the fall and winter • Women in Medicine Day in the spring • Mentor Match-Up with local female physicians as well a “Big” from the Med 2 class • Meeting topics: • Relationships • Women’s Health Awareness • Stress Relief • Harrassment • Eating Disorders • Reproductive Choices Halloween Party

  5. What’s special about us?? • We’ve volunteered in countries such as Costa Rica, France, Australia, Guatemala, Samoan Islands and Mauritania • We’ve conducted research in everything • from oncology to pediatric nephrology to dermatology. • We are firefighters and EMTs

  6. We are professional dancers and have toured the world and worked on Broadway • We have done archeological work in Turkey and Peru • We are mothers, teachers, leaders, athletes and we will be the next group of amazing female doctors.
