  2. Question 1: Summarising In the first paragraph, the writer... Read Question 1 so you know the focus of your summary. Q1 is worth 8 marks. Spend 5 minutes reading Source 1. As you read, underline/highlight any phrases which relate to the question. Aim to find 8 phrases. Spend 10 minutes writing your summary of Source 1. Aim to make 8 points.

  3. Question 2: Lay-out and Presentation Read Question 2 so you know which presentational features you have to analyse. Q2 is worth 8 marks. Spend 5 minutes reading Source 2 and decide what its purpose is. Spend 5 minutes writing about the effect of the heading. What effect do particular words have on you? Spend 5 minutes describing the picture. How does the picture make you feel?
