  2. Project Overview • This project called for hydro-blasting maintenance to be performed on the steel infrastructure and support frame of the bridge.

  3. Services Performed • Utilizing scaffolding, suspended cables, and manlifts, crews hydroblasted and prepped the support column and the truss structures to receive a protective coating comprised of <insert paint>.

  4. Manlift Operation Workers used manlifts to reach the upper deck area of the steel trusses.

  5. Degradation of Steel - Preblast Deep rust and degradation of the steel is present pre-blast.

  6. Degradation of Support Columns - Preblast The steel columns supporting the bridge are also rusted and corroded.

  7. Suspended Walkboards Workers utilized high-tension steel cable with suspended walkboards to reach the areas underneath the bridge.

  8. Suspended Baskets Workers also used suspended baskets to reach areas around the columns and farther down below the bridge.

  9. Hydroblasting In Progress Workers remove rust and flaking paint from the steel faces of the bridge.

  10. Central Column Work Suspended in baskets, employees work on the central support column.

  11. Application of Rust Inhibitor Employees applied a rust inhibiting coating to all bolts and intersecting joists.
