  2. The wind of protest continues to blow stronger…

  3. …if we judge by the number of tents that keep growing along Rothchild Avenue…

  4. …and all the young people breathing life into a revolution that keeps widening.

  5. They have a resilience and a commitment to ensure their message will come through.

  6. The leaders of the protest held a news conference on a line of improvised chairs…

  7. …in the middle of the stage. In the center was Dafni Leaf.

  8. They used words that, in their pathos, remind us of similar speeches that were given by Jewish leaders decades ago…

  9. …and they announced a massive protest for this coming Saturday.

  10. [Dafni Leaf:] Good evening to all the tenants of the tents all around the country.

  11. This week the government of Israel disappointed us once more…

  12. when the tent protest was treated with neglect and ridicule…

  13. …and disregard. And therefore the struggle is going to the next level tonight.

  14. This is our country.

  15. And the time has come to return it to the people.

  16. [Chant:] The people demand social justice.

  17. The tents protest… …that kindled this summer in the streets of Israel…

  18. …is marking this Saturday evening [with a demonstration]… …at what appears to be its peak.

  21. We changed the word “pity” to the word “mercy”.

  22. We changed the word “charity” to the word “justice”.

  23. We changed the word “alms” to the word “welfare”.

  24. We changed the word “consumer” to the word “citizen”.

  25. We changed the word “to wait” to the word “to change”.

  26. And we changed the word “alone” to the word “together”.

  27. This is the biggest thing we have done this summer.

  28. I don’t know about you, friends…but this is not reversible, from here we won’t agree to go backward.

  29. We are marching forward to a better future and a more just country.
