  1. FRP Pipes To Your Rescue Fibreglass Reinforced Thermosetting Plastic, or FRP Pipes are used in industrial applications, due to their numerous advantages over traditional materials. Produced in fibreglass insulation and polymer resin along with other minerals, each material is used to impart a special quality to the fibreglass. FRP pipes are commonly used in the storage and transfer of flammable or corrosive materials or even in aerospace, automative, marine and construction. With successful research in the field of industrial applications, FRP pipes rank ahead in durability, strength, resistance and variety as compared to stainless steel and aluminum. Therefore, it has become the natural choice for new and replacement pipe installations. 1.High resistance FRP pipes offer excellent resistance to corrosion, soil, salts, hydrogen sulphide and water. Due to its resistance to chemical and heat resistant properties, FRP pipes are considered safe for many chemically hazardous environments. FRP pipes are coated with resin with an ultraviolet stabilizer, making them resistant to acids, bleaches, solvents and alkalis. This can extend their resistance to sunlight and rain, and can be repainted when required. They can withstand a heat temperature from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 300 degree Fahrenheit.

  2. 2.Lightweight and Versatile FRP pipes come with a high strength-to-weight ratio which makes it easier to unload, install and adjust them with less lost production. Compared to traditional materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, concrete and wood, FRP pipes offer much lower transports and installation costs. They are also extremely malleable, and can be formed into various shapes and sizes. They are strong and can withstand high pressure, temperature and chemicals. 3.Efficiency FRP pipes also provide better hydraulic performance than traditional materials like steel, ductile iron and concrete. This reduces operational and shipping costs to a great extent. It can be safely used in swimming pools, tanks, springs, wells, canals, deflectors, dams, ditches, platforms, pressure vessels and much more. Due to their multiple channels, FRP pipes can also be used in hospitals, high-rise office and residential buildings, restaurants and auditorium. FRP pipes are coated with a highly corrosion-resistant resin coating, which makes them efficient for chemical industry processes as well. 4.Does not conduct heat, electricity or sound Contrary to traditional metal products, fibreglass does not conduct heat, electricity or sound it has excellent electricity resistance, moderate thermal heat conductivity and a high tensile strength. 5.Durability The longevity of FRP pipes are due to the high tensile elongation properties of the vinyl ester. It gives a toughness to the pipes that resists cracking of the resin when exposed to heavy loads. It also protects against damage during shipping and installation in addition to providing high fatigue resistance. It has a long life-cycle compared to traditional materials. Moreover, it is economically and environmentally friendly which gives it an edge over conventional materials. FRP pipes presently come with many uses, ranging from oil field gathering lines, chemical factories and municipal markets. Architectural and engineering firms now use computer software programmes to enhance the quality of FRP piping. This helps in designing a new FRP pipe system or to repair existing ones. Similarly, FRP piping should also be considered in trenchless piping, micro-tunneling, slip-lining and firewater.
