  1. Dealing With Fibromyalgia: A Few Useful Tips

  2. Fibromyalgia is a terrible problem to have. It leaves you feeling exhausted, depressed, and feeling a failure. This is all exacerbated because it’s a problem that’s extremely difficult for other people to see. On the outside, you look fine, but inside, you have no energy and no motivation. This can lead other person to label you as lazy, which in turn fuels your negative thoughts. It’s a terrible condition and more people need to be aware of its devastating impact. • The worst part about it is that there’s no cure. The doctors don’t even know what causes it. However, there is now a strong link between fibromyalgia, CFS, and Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). Up to 25% of people with fibromyalgia and CFS actually have IIH. IIH means that there is too much spinal fluid cushioning the brain. It literally squashes the brain, and while it’s not fatal, it can be debilitating. It’s highly likely that the remaining 75% of cases also have their roots in medical conditions. However, until the medical community starts to pay more attention we’re unlikely to find any definitive answers.

  4. It’s not all bleak, we have good days too, and there are a number of things that we can do to help improve the situation. Here are a few tips that we’ve learned along the way: • Be kind to yourself. This is the most important piece of advice, and something that most of us forget to do. If you start beating yourself up, telling yourself you're a loser, and comparing your life to other people’s, then you will make yourself more poorly by sapping what few resources you have with your negative thoughts. This is not your fault. You aren’t weak. This is not a matter of “if only I tried harder”. You are ill – understand this, don’t allowed other people to influence this belief, and accept that it is not your fault.

  5. Take oxygen element max. This supplement has helped to boost energy levels for people with fibromyalgia. Whether it’s a placebo, or is having a very real effect, has yet to be seen, but people anecdotally report an improvement in energy. This doesn’t mean that it you’ll suddenly feel full of beans. It just means that it creates a little extra energy, and every little helps. • Take Co-enzyme Q10. This one appears to be extremely beneficial initially, but the effects do appear to wear off over time. With Co-enzyme Q10, you should take them regularly to see how they affect you, and if you feel consistently good, stick to that regimen. However, if you feel great for the first few days, and then start to lose your energy again, it can be worth breaking it up so that you take it for three days on and three days off, or whatever works for you.

  6. Each morning, take a teaspoon of turmeric (just buy it from your supermarket), olive oil, and apple cider vinegar. After a few weeks, you should start to feel a bit more energised. • Finally, you should try to incorporate graded exercise into your daily life. You can find plenty of information to help you to do this. It’s very important that it’s graded; otherwise, you can experience the peaks and troughs of CFS & fibromyalgia.
