Continuous Electricity Generation… • Explain what an MFC is and how the technology has improved over the last few years. • Explain the MFC ‘set-up’ regarding the position and use of the microorganisms. • Under what conditions were the experiments run? • What materials were used to start-up the stack of electrodes and what materials were used to maintain the operational components of the MFC? • Describe the results of the MFC’s (including the increases and short time outputs). • Describe some of the electrochemical differences discovered during the experiment. • How did the microbial community change during the experiment? • Were there any differences between series and parallel MFCs? (this should be a long answer) • How did the internal resistance affect the microbial community? • What should be the next step? (This is a critical look at a possible future experiment)
