  19. Introduction to LEED -NC

  20. LEED® India for New Construction LEED-INDIA for New Construction and Major Renovations is a green building rating system that helps to guide and design high-performance commercial buildings. Eligibility: Commercial buildings include (but are not limited to) offices, retail and service establishments, institutional buildings (libraries, schools, museums, etc.,) hotels and buildings of four or more habitable stories. Basically, this programme is for those buildings where the design and operation is fully in the scope and control of owner or the developer. (For leased out or rented spaces LEED® India Core & Shell will be a better option) If the application of LEED-INDIA for a particular building type is questionable, IGBC encourages the project team to verify using LEED-INDIA checklists that are provided with each Rating System. The project is a viable candidate for LEED-INDIA certification if it can meet all prerequisites and achieve the minimum number of points to earn the Certified level of LEED-INDIA project certification. .

  22. LEED NC V. 1.0 The LEED NC V. 1.0 Green Building Rating System for New Construction and Major Renovations is a set of performance standards for certifying the design and construction of commercial or institutional buildings and high-rise residential buildings of all sizes, both public and private. The intent is to promote healthful, durable, affordable, and environmentally sound practices in building design and construction. Prerequisites and credits in the LEED INDIA V. 1.0 for New Construction and Major Renovations addresses 6 topics: • Sustainable Sites (SS) • Water Efficiency (WE) • Energy and Atmosphere (EA) • Materials and Resources (MR) • Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) • Innovation in Design (ID) Certified 26-32 points | Silver 33-38 points | Gold 39-51 points | Platinum 52-69

  23. LEED experts team from First green will review the project based on available data and drawings from the client based on this feasibility study will be conducted. • As per this feasibility study we can make the conclusions in the following five areas that were evaluated for the project Sustainable Sites Energy Management Materials & Resources Environmental Quality Water Management Implement Waste management plan during and post construction Use of local materials manufactured or extracted within 800 kms from project site. Use of materials made of rapidly renewable sources. Use of materials with recycled content like cement, steel, glass etc. Water efficient, low flow fixtures and faucets Incorporation of Rainwater Harvesting or storage systems. Water Efficient Landscaping and Irrigation Systems to reduce use of potable water for irrigation. Onsite waste water treatment facility and reuse of treated wastewater for non potable purposes like irrigation, air-conditioning, flushing etc . Minimum energy compliance with ASHRAE 90.1-2004 standard. Energy efficient building envelope design Use of energy efficient lighting fixtures and electrical appliances Energy efficient HVAC systems. Building commissioning and Monitoring & Verification mechanisms for energy performance management of systems and buildings complying to set standards during construction and post occupancy. Implementation of storm water management plan during and post construction stage. Light colored paving and highly reflective roof finishes for reduced heat island effect. Alternative transportation, Promoting use of public transport and provision of electric charging points for vehicles. Special considerations and easy access for disabled people Mandatory use of CFC free refrigerants in HVAC systems. Adequate daylight and cross ventilation facility Implementation of no smoking policies in the buildings. Encourage use of low emitting materials like low VOC paints and coatings, adhesives and sealants. Use of CRI certified carpets for internal usage.
