  2. Energy • Mongooses mostly feed on insects, crabs, earthworms, lizards, snakes, chickens, and rodents. However, they also eat eggs and carrion. The Indian Mongoose and others are well-known for their ability to fight and kill venomous snakes, particularly cobras. when imported into the West Indies to kill rats and snakes, they destroyed most of the small, ground-based fauna. For this reason, it is illegal to import most species of mongoose into the United States, Australia, and other countries. Mongooses were introduced to Hawaii in 1883.

  3. Environment • Mongoose are primarily found around Africa but some spices occupies southern Asia and the Iberian Peninsula. Also in Egyptians, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Europe. If you notice by my information mongooses live hotter parts of the world.

  4. reproduction • The female mongoose gives birth once a year to a litter of about 4 pups. At 6 weeks of age, the pups are weaned and will begin hunting with their mother until about the age of 4 months. Males will leave the family when they are about 6 months old and the females will stay longer or even permanently. The mongoose emits a high-pitched noise, commonly known as giggling, when it mates. Giggling is also heard during courtship.

  5. Growth • Thereare more than thirty species, ranging from 1–4 feet in length. Mongoose range in weight from the squirrel-sized Common Dwarf Mongoose, at 10 oz to the cat-sized White-tailed Mongoose, at 9 lb.

  6. adaptation • let us talk about how it adapts to its environment. Living in the southern tip of Africa where the weather can be very cold or very hot, it has to adapt. To deal with the hot weather, the mongoose digs a tunnel underground where it can try and stay cool. They are known to share these tunnels with meerkats or ground squirrels. Yellow mongooses have also learned to use visual and vocal calls to communicate to each other.
