Joy or Grief for Mom • (Proverbs 10:1) A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother. • Proverbs 23:25) May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice! • (Proverbs 17:25) A foolish son brings grief to his father and bitterness to the one who bore him. • (Proverbs 20:11) Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.
God bases our relationship on grace • (Ephesians 1:5-8) For he chose us in him before the creation of the world… In love {5} he predestined us to be adopted as his sons … {6} to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. {7} In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace {8} that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
Grace motivates pure and holy living • (2 Corinthians 6:18) "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."(2 Corinthians 7:1) Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
