OHPs as experts in a multiprofessional team • Since year 1974 psychologists have worked in Finland at OHS, today 230 persons. • The prevention concept of OHS is shifting from the health hazard model towards workplace health promotion. • The multiprofessional working has become essential and the need for a psychological approach at work places has become evident.   3. Curriculum of training 1 A team of psychologists at FIOH planned according the new OHS legislation (2001) the curriculum of the 11 study credits multiform qualification training for OHPs. Training of Psychologists /Finnish Institute of Occupational Health/Tiina Saarelma-Thiel / 2.1.2020

  4. Curriculum 2 The course lasts 6 months and includes 15 face to face teaching days plus additional study assignments, e.g. use of e-learning and several tasks. Training of Psychologists /Finnish Institute of Occupational Health/Tiina Saarelma-Thiel / 2.1.2020

The main 6 contents of training 1 1 The operational environment and control system e.g. legislation and reimbursement of OHS costs; 2 The defining of the professional role of OHPs and the readiness to develop the way of working as an expert in OH setting; Training of Psychologists /Finnish Institute of Occupational Health/Tiina Saarelma-Thiel / 2.1.2020

The main 6 contents are 2 3The scientific basis of occupational health psychology, e.g. the relationship between work and health, and recognition of a personal theory basis that directs one's own work; 4 Becoming acquainted with the core processes of OHS, e.g. work place surveys carried out multiprofessional; Training of Psychologists /Finnish Institute of Occupational Health/Tiina Saarelma-Thiel / 2.1.2020

  7. The main 6 contents are 3 5 The organizational psychological approaches for work place health promotion; 6 Psychological methods used for individuals, e.g. assessment of work ability or the need for rehabilitation.   8. Together Basic parts are undertaken together with OH physicians, OH nurses and OH physiotherapists. Training of Psychologists /Finnish Institute of Occupational Health/Tiina Saarelma-Thiel / 2.1.2020

  10. Evaluation: Impact of training Each training phase was evaluated immediately to ensure and improve the quality of the training. In addition, a later evaluation was done to the psychologistsafter 8 months to assess the impact of the whole training. Results of Evaluation 2 The impact survey showed that the trained psychologists felt that 1 their professional role and identity had become more clear, 2 the importance of the multiprofessional approach at work had become more essential, 3 they became more aware of the services to be provided, 4 they learned to apply appropriate approaches and methods in their work.
