TheoreticalFramework • «Systemic» approach: • school community including children and young people, school management, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, parents and carers. • emphasis upon communication and dynamic relationships among children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community • Group as a whole: • to understand the complex phenomenon of school bullying and cyberbullying within the school and specific group context in which it is generated

  3. InterventionPlanned • Focus on: • quality of relationships (offline – online) • Aims: • improvinggrouprelationship (social inclusion, responsability) • developingempathy, communication and cooperation

InterventionPlanned • SpecificAims: • cyberbullyingasrelationalgroupphenomenon • the use of information and communication technologies to support repeated and hostile behavior by an individual or group • role reverse • emotional consequences of cyberbullying victimization • resposabilityof bystanders • misunderstanding the reactions of victims by cyberbullies • lack of empathy by cyberbullies and bystanders • anonymous method of reporting cyberbullying • loneliness, isolation, difficulties in defending of victims • lower self- esteem of bullies and victims

  5. InterventionPlanned • 2 schoolsinvolved (ITC Matteucci – ITAER Baracca) • 2 classrooms for eachschool • 5 meetings for eachclassroom from Febraury to March • 5 meetings for teachers of twoschools (3 training, 2 supervision) from March to May • 1 meeting for parents

Activity 1: Definitions of bullying and cyberbullying • Objectives: • understanding the definitions of bullying and cyberbullying • identifying bullying and cyberbullying behaviourand differentiate it from less serious behaviour • being able to adopt a critical and reflective stance in the analysis of complex social phenomena • Methods: • brainstorming • debriefing

  8. Strengths and Weaknesses • Strengths: • Involvement, activeparticipation, responsability and emotionalsensitization • Weakness: • Difficulties in discussionaboutdefinition of cyberbullying for emergingprocessesin the group and the time dedicated to activities

Activity 2Experientialactivities • Objectives: • increasing their knowledge and understanding of motivations, emotions and responsibility of bullies, victims and bystanders • school climate analysis • Methods • Psychodrama: dramatization • Circle time • Card on “How do I feel in classroom” • Spacemetric (Spaziogramma ?) (Stevens) experential activities • debriefing
