Daily Schedule 9:00 Writing 9:45 Read-Aloud & Snack, Brain Break 10:00 Reading 10:50ish Word Work (Spelling) 11:15 Specialist (PE, Library, Music) 12:00 Lunch & Recess 12:55 Cursive 1:10 Math 2:10 Brain Break 2:15 Social Studies, Science, Health, Art, etc. 3:00 Pack Up 3:10 Dismissal On Fridays, we have PE from 2:25-3:10.

  6. Supporting Your Child in Writing • Let him see you as a writer • Include her in your writing • Encourage “Best Guess” spelling 

  7. Word Work (Spelling) • Differentiated spelling groups • Focus on patterns

  8. Supporting Your Child with Spelling • Designate a spot to store spelling words • Practice at least once/week • The night before the test, help her take and check her practice test • Review his spelling test together

  9. Math • Multiplication and Division • Measurement and Graphing • length, capacity, weight, mass, time • Addition and Subtraction within 1,000 • Complex Word Problems • Geometry: Perimeter, Area, Quadrilaterals • Concept of Fractions

Supporting Your Child in Math • Help him find a good spot to do his math homework • Help with her Study Plan (Math Facts Fluency) • Go over his tests/quizzes together • Watch for Family Letters (will give details about what we are currently studying) • Help her set up XtraMath/IXL for extra practice at home (info to come home late September or first few weeks of October)
