Problem • Girls and young women affected by honour related violence and • forced marriage cannot turn to the regular help system • They are often in danger if they leave their families • Many of them suffer from isolation and strong limitations by • their families • Therefore they need specialized help offers
Target Group Crisis Shelter • Girls and young women (13-21 Years ) • Migrant background • Who fear, after leaving their families to be sanctioned or even • murdered by their families (not only the core family but the • whole clan)
The approach Crisis Shelter • Anonymity – safe and hidden housing • Fast and unbureaucratic intake • A protected space to stabilize and empower the girl or • young women
Anonymity Crisis Shelter • Secret adress and telephone number • No Mobile Phones • Stay of the girls/young womens own choice (voluntary) • Placed in a big city, in a quiet living area (no problem areas or areas with high migrant population)
Intake Crisis Shelter • Reachable around the clock • Professionals in the shelter decide about intakes • Fast intake without prior clarification with the sponsor • Able to take in girls/young women of any legal status
Inside the shelter Crisis Shelter • Familiar athmosphere (max. 10 places) • Around the clock care • Clear daily structure and strong set of rules • Intercultural, multilingual, professional, women-only-team
Inside the shelter Crisis Shelter • Resource-oriented, empowerment, at the side of the girl/young women • Goal of the stay: enable the client to decide individually, autonomous and from as many options as possible • Family contacts are escorted and reflected with the client • Duration of the stay: As long as necessary, as short as possible
