This lesson focuses on the key factors that led to the American Revolution, emphasizing the aftermath of the Anglo-French imperial competition resulting from the French and Indian War and the Treaty of Paris in 1763. Students will analyze the colonial responses to British actions such as the Proclamation of 1763, the Stamp Act, and the Intolerable Acts, as expressed through movements like the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Activities include creating a mock interview or pamphlet from the perspective of either a colonist or a loyalist, highlighting both facts and biased viewpoints to persuade audiences of their stance.
