  1. Teams in Inquiry Why not teams? Why teams? Task is too ambitious • One person does all the work • Others tag along • Takes time • Wastes time • Report cards are individual

Business Point of View • Teams are indispensable • If solo, not ambitious enough • Assignments should be structured in such a way that the team is essential • Team projects should receive team credits • Underperforming team member is penalized the next time • Underperforming team is penalized the next time • Complaining member is a bad sign. Management expects that member to motivate • Supervisor needs to be alert to slackers • Assignment requires working together than simply dividing up task • More able members must lead and delegate • If a person insists on working alone, they must be responsible for completing a task that ordinarily would require four people. • Contributions of team members are not necessarily equal but each member must contribute in a meaningful way
