New York’s Hispanic Community Health Issues Confronting Hispanics • The Statistics: • More then 30% of Latino NY residents, 13% of US born Latinos in NYC and 40% NYC foreign born Latino immigrants are uninsured • 28.2% of NYC and 24.1% NYS Latino adults are obese • In NYC, Latinos have highest rates of diagnosed diabetes,13% of Latino population
