  3. JOURNAL 1—PREREADING“TIME TRAVEL” • If traveling through time were possible, what era would you most like to visit? Would you want to travel back to the past or ahead into the future? Would you want to travel just a few dozen years, or would you travel hundreds, a thousand, or even more years?

While the organizers have taken every precaution to minimize the impact of the hunting party on the past, one member violates the rules and leaves the designated path. Upon their return to the present the group finds that the world has been drastically altered by the seemingly unimportant death of a pre-historic butterfly.
