  2. The United States • The United States of America are situated in the central part Noth American continent. The total area of the USA is over nine million square kilmetres. The population of the United States is more 236 millon people. The United States is a land of rivers and lakes. There are many big cities in the USA, such as New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and others. The national capital is Washington,D.C. • The geographical card of the USA

  5. The District of Columbia • The United States is a federal union which is made up of fifty states and one independent district – the District of Columbia. The Districy of Columbia is the terrirory of the national capital of the USA,Washington, with its own laws and regulation. Washington, D.C., is situated on both banks ot the river Potomac, between the two states, Maryland and Virdginia. Washington,D.C.

  6. The national capital is Washington,D.C. • This palace was chosen by the first Amerocan President George Washington. The plot of land of a hundred square miles was bought from private owners by the Stare. In 1790 George Washingtin laid the Corner-stone of the Capitol where the Congress sits. The alace was called the Distric of Columbiain honour of Columbs, the discoverer of Amerika. The capital got the name of Washington ofter the name of its founder, Washington has been the federal capital since 1800. Washington,D.C.

  7. The heart of America • Washington is sometimes called the heart of America. It is the palace where the federal government works and where each President of the USA lives. Washington is smaller in size that the lagest cities of USA, such as New York, Chicago, Detroit or Los Angeles. The population of Washingtin is about of 11 million people. The bildings of Washington are not very tall because no building must the taller then the Capitol. But in political sense Washingon is the centre of ciuntry and the most important city or the United States. Washington,D.C.
