Which Students? • The Transition Lab provides services to students who: • Have 1 or more COMPASS scores in 1.) Pre-foundation Level and/or 2.) Foundations Level • Believe scores don’t reflect their skills and want to refresh skills and re-test • Want to “brush up” for an upcoming mathematics, reading, or writing course • Are motivated and willing to commit the time needed for an Accelerated Math or English course.
Services Offered • Consultation, Planning, and Preparation • Quick Start Curriculum
It is a minimum 10-hour workshop in basic academic skills. • Quick Start utilizes software to improve skills and measure progress in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as technology and keyboarding. • Work is completed in the Transition Lab, located in the LRC, under direct supervision of an advisor. • Students who earn a “P” will receive: 1.) a Continuing Education Unit certificate (CEU).2.)
