Typical Practice Two types of regular season tournaments MN/USA Qualifiers – sometimes more competitive tournaments Open Tournaments – often can “rate” your child’s ability Others: (NYWA) but our club does not participate Qualifiers “qualify” your child for entrance to the state tournament based on points (25 pts needed) (1) first place finish is 40 points – entrance to state (1)second place finish is 25 points – entrance to state (1)third place finish is 10 points – need 3 Points accumulate for seeding at state tourney You can ask the ref to pass over a match if you don’t have a coach mat side
  21. New Parent/Child Orientation Club has “coach attended” tourneys – see website for listing You can independently go to tournaments Keep wet wipes in your wrestler’s backpack Great resource is theguillotine.com – Open Tournaments Rule of thumb for # of tournaments – match your child’s age Get to know your coaches and team techs. We will help talk you through tournaments and who’s attending Ask other parents about tournaments and who’s attending Metro Mondays in Prior Lake - May conflict with some younger athletes for Monday practices Practice behavior – If you’re in attendance, please help maintain discipline.
  22. Thank you We look forward to another successful year!2013-2014
