  3. Objectives: The students will know what is Paper Cutting & Chinese Paper Cutting. The students will know 4 different types of Chinese Paper Cutting and see the examples of each type. The students will practice cutting a snow flake following the direction of the teacher. Assessment: The students list 4 types of Chinese Paper Cutting. The students share their ideas about the examples of different types. The students make their practices to cut snow flakes with scissors.

(Oldest, Red Color, Symbolism) Chinese Paper Cutting (Chinese: 剪纸, jiǎn zhǐ) is the first type of paper cutting design, since paper was invented by Cai Lun in the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. The art form later spread to other parts of the world with different regions adopting their own cultural styles. There are a number of distinct uses for the paper cut outs in Chinese culture, almost all of which are for health, prosperity or decorative purposes. Original Chinesepaper cutting only use “Knife”& “Scissor”.
