  1. Inequalities for Sides and Angles of a Triangle Section 5.5

  2. Warm Up • Find the missing angle. • In ΔABC, m∠ A = 9x-4, m∠ B= 4x – 16, m∠ C= 68-2x. • Find x and the measure of each angle.

  3. The angle opposite the longest side of a triangle is the biggest angle and the angle opposite the shortest side of a triangle is the smallest angle.

  4. Write the angles in order from smallest to largest.

  5. Write the sides in order from shortest to longest.

  6. Find the value of x and list the sides of triangle ABC from shortest to longest. • m∠ A = 9x + 29 • m∠ B = 93 – 5x • m∠ C = 10x + 2

  7. Find the value of x and list the sides of triangle ABC from longest to shortest. • m∠ A = 9x - 4 • m∠ B = 4x - 16 • m∠ C = 68 – 2x

  8. Find the value of x and list the sides of triangle ABC from longest to shortest. • m∠ A = 12x - 9 • m∠ B = 62 – 3x • m∠ C = 16x + 2

  9. Compare mBACand mDAC. Compare EF and FG.

  10. Compare mEGHand mEGF. Compare BC and AB.

  11. The distances of 3 blocks and 4 blocks are the same in both triangles.

  12. Lesson Quiz: Part I 1. Compare mABCand mDEF. 2. Compare PS and QR.

  13. List the angles from smallest to largest if: • A (5,2) • B(-5,3) • C(-2,-2)

  14. List the angles from smallest to largest if: • A (4,3) • B(-3, 2) • C(1, -2)
