  2. LA MONTAGNA La montagna è un rilievo di elevata altitudine: in Italia è generalmente superiore ai 600-700 m slm. Generalmente si presenta raggruppata in lunghe catene o isolati massicci Infatti quando la superficie terrestre è sottoposta a forze, che la comprimono, può avvenire un corrugamento che, a seconda della sua intensità, genera rilievi collinari o montuosi. La formazione delle montagne si chiama orogenesi (dal greco oros = monte e genesis= nascita)
