  1. NVR Simple Calculator - Main Window Input Items Output Items Detailed Information • 3types of camera (MPEG-4 / JPEG4VGA(NP304,NF302) / JPEG 4VGA(NP1000)) • can be mixed and calculated the bandwidth and required storage. • Actual camera assignment to each NVR are shown in “Detailed Information”. • Max. # of cameras : 999 units • Max. # of Recording Days : 999 days - 1 -

  2. NVR Simple Calculator - Main Window Example of Detailed Information 60cam 4VGA:JPEG VGA:MPEG-4 VGA:MPEG-4 4VGA:JPEG VGA:MPEG-4 20cam, 111.616Mbps 19cam, 102.400Mbps 21cam, 113.664Mbps ND400 #2 ND400 #3 ND400 #1 2xHDE400 2xHDE400 2xHDE400 x26 (25.45TB) x26 (23.35TB) x26 (25.92TB) 13cam 4cam 3cam 13cam 2cam 4cam 14cam 4cam 3cam - 2 -

  3. NVR Simple Calculator - Parameter Window MPEG-4 JPEG 4VGA (NP304/NF302) JPEG 4VGA (NP1000) REC Option MPEG-4 Setting : -For the reference, estimated frame rate is shown beside max. bit rate. The value will be changed automatically based on the setting of Resolution and Quality. JPEG 4VGA (NP304/NF302) Setting : -For the reference, estimated frame rate and data size per image are shown beside Quality setting. -REC ips is limited to the estimated frame rate automatically. -Estimated total bandwidth for the cameras is shown. JPEG 4VGA (NP1000) Setting : -Similar setting to JPEG 4VGA (NP304/NF302). REC Option Setting : - Audio and VMD Info. can be selected. This setting is applied to all cameras. - 3 -

  4. NVR Simple Calculator - Preface and features • - Supported devices : WJ-ND400, ND300A and ND200 • Input # of cameras, recording days, HDD capacity etc., • then # of units and HDD are calculated. • - The limitations to simplify the operation: • * Only MPEG-4 and JPEG(4VGA) are supported. • (JPEG VGA and JPEG QVGA are not supported.) • * Only one parameter set is available for each camera category. • (Camera Category : MPEG-4 / JPEG 4VGA(NP304/NF302) / JPEG 4VGA(NP1000)) • * Schedule Setting is not available. • (Only “Recording Days” and “Hours/Day” can be set.) • * Event Recording is not calculated. • * The bandwidth for output from NVR is not calculated. - 4 -

  5. NVR Simple Calculator - Calculation Rules 1. # of main units are calculated on the following conditions: 2. Cameras are assigned to NVR as evenly as possible. 64cam 64cam 1cam 43cam 43cam 43cam ... ... ... ... ... NVR NVR NVR NVR NVR NVR 3. Optimize the camera assignment to NVR so that the # of expansion units can be minimized. ex.) ND400, MPEG-4:60units, 18days/24hours Audio=ON, VMD.info=ON 20cam 20cam 20cam 24cam 18cam 18cam ... ... ... ... ... ... Main unit (ND***) Expansion (HDE) - 5 -

  6. NVR Simple Calculator - Calculation Rules 4. Storage calculation in RAID5/RAID6 Mode [1] Required HDD for Parity ... RAID5: 1xHDD/unit, RAID6: 2xHDD/unit [2] Minimum # of HDD ... RAID5: 3xHDD/unit, RAID6: 4xHDD/unit • If the required HDD is only 1pc, one more HDD is added to satisfy the above • condition [2]. (Refer to the figure-A) • -If the required HDD in an expansion unit is only 1pc, the total # of HDDs is • maintained at same # by shifting a HDD from Main unit to the expansion unit. • (Refer to the figure-B) • * Except ND300A/HDE300 with 1TB HDD. In this case, only 3 HDDs are installed in • the main unit, then one more HDD is added. (Refer to the next calculation Rule-5.) figure-A figure-B ... ... ... ... Main unit (ND***) Expansion (HDE) for net capacity for parity for net capacity to satisfy the condition [2] for parity - 6 -

  7. NVR Simple Calculator - Calculation Rules 5. “2TB Limitation” is calculated in ND300A RAID5 mode. “2TB Limitation” ... The maximum net capacity is limited to 2TB in RAID5 mode. e.g. Even though you install 4x 1TB HDD to ND300A, you cannot record 3TB but 2TB. In case of WJ-ND300A with 1TB HDD or more in RAID5 mode, the # of HDD in a unit will be not 4 but 3. (including parity) ... ... Main unit (ND300A) Expansion (HDE300) RAID5 for net capacity (1TB or more) for parity (1TB or more) - 7 -

  8. NVR Simple Calculator - Calculation Rules 6. # of units will be optimized regarding to the cost ex.) ND400, MPEG-4:192units, 14days/24hours HDD=1000G, RAID=OFF 55cam 55cam 27cam 55cam 64cam 64cam 64cam ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Main unit (ND***) Expansion (HDE) Expansion (HDE) Expansion (HDE) ND400 : 3 units HDE400 : 6 units ND400 : 4 units HDE400 : 3 units If the price difference between Main unit(ND***) and Expansion unit(HDE***) is more than 3 times, 1x Main unit will be added automatically and calculate again. - 8 -

  9. NVR Simple Calculator - Calculation Rules 7. Others - HDD use efficiency - Communication Overhead : 5% - Audio bit rate : 32kbps/cam - VMD.Info : 6kbps/cam When VMD.Info is ON, MPEG-4 bit rate will be max.15ips. - 9 -
