  2. Fig.1. This is the bridge which was built over the Merrimack River and connects North Campus to East Campus. Many students walk over this bridge every day to get to and from classes. It is very clear that they are focused, and despite the dreary weather are still walking to class. Lowell. October 5, 2013 (Mahoney)

  3. Fig.1. This is the lecture hall in Olney Hall on North Campus. It can fit well over 250 people. In this photo a physics lecture is being taught. It has a projector screen for professors to show examples on the subject and is in a V shape and has slanted ceilings to help with the acoustics in the room. Lowell. October 7,2013 (Seastrand)

  4. Fig.1. This is the Merrimack river from the bridge. This River flows on every campus of the school making it one of the most identifiable parts of UMass Lowell. Every person on every campus sees this river regardless of where they have classes, making the campuses feel much more unified. Lowell. October 5,2013 (Mahoney)

Campus Values • Academics: It is very clear from UMass Lowell’s careful architecture of it’s lecture halls that they want to create an equal learning opportunity, even for the kids who chose to sit in the back • Dedication: Students walk to class even in the pouting rain at 8 AM while at many schools this would be an easy day to skip class. • Unification: Although campuses may be far apart UMass Lowell has bridges connecting campuses, and has a view of the Merrimack River no matter where most of your classes are.
