Research Centres: Centre for Automation and Robotics Research Thin Films Research Centre  Polymers, Nanocomposites and Modelling Research Centre Structural Materials and Integrity Research Centre Materials Analysis and Research Services Centre for Industrial Collaboration (MARS CIC) Established in 1990, a highly multi-disciplinary team of world class researchers Research and consultancy activities are supported by a large advanced equipment base, ranging from the latest electron microscopes to high performance computing hardware

Research Centres: Art and Design Research Centre (ADRC), and the Communication Computing Research Centre (CCRC) Established in 2004 , it encompasses Fine Art, Design, Media, Communications, Film, Computing and Engineering. Host to Design Futures, a centre for industrial collaboration providing specialist research and consultancy services in the areas of product and packaging design.

  6. KTP Pedigree • We have carried out over 160 KTP's with industrial partners since1986 • We are the 3rd largest provider of KTP's in the Yorkshire region. • We are 10th largest provider in the UK.

  9. Average KTP Reported Outputs • An increase of over £240,000 in annual profits before tax • The creation of two genuine new jobs • An increase in skills of existing staff

Again, averaged for the four KTP this comes to £4.5Million/year. • Average change in annual profitbefore tax that is anticipated over a 3 year timescale after completion of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership and that results from the Knowledge Transfer Partnership. Averaged for the four KTP’s this comes to ~£230K/year. • Secured employment, increased the number of employees from 130 to 200+ • Exports rose from a low of 10% to a high of 46% by value - overseas turnover increased by 80% in 2009/2010 and by 121% in 2010/2011
