Then get mum or dad to sign your diary at least once a week. Remember your diaries are due EVERY Friday! Reminder: Record anything that you read. If you read an article in mums magazine or dads newspaper, writeit in your diary. Reading Record Spelling T Spelling Focus on these skills while completing your homework • Organisation: • Have you set aside time to complete your homework so it is handed in on time? • Presentation: • Have you ruled a margin on each page? • Handwriting: • Have you set your work out neatly so that others can read it? • Reading practice: • Have you read and recorded your reading each day? • Spelling practice: • Have you practised your spelling? • Persistence • Have you given each task a red hot go? Physical Education Challenge Homework Checklist Reading Record Class Trivia • This fortnight you are being asked to create a ‘who am I’ about another student in the class. You may have seen these in the newspaper or on a Fantail wrapper. You may need to do some questioning of the student or some research on your famous person beforehand. You should then post these on the school blog under the ‘homework’ page and see if anyone can guess who it is! For example: My job gets very busy in December. I live in the North Pole. I have 9 pet reindeers. Some people call me Saint Nicholas. I am …… (With each line of your who am I, the sentences/clues should become more obvious and easy to answer) English • Being active at home is easy!! • Heart Rate Monitor • Before you start, record your heart rate for a minute, using a stop watch /timer. • Complete as many star jumps or burpees (if you want a challenge) as you can in 1 minute. Then quickly take your heart rate for the next minute, counting how many times you feel the pulse. • Complete this activity every day for a week (or at least 5 days) and record the number of star jumps/burpees and your heart rate, before and after you exercise. It is up to you how you • record and show your data. • When finished all 5 days, write a brief paragraph about what happened over the 5 days. Did your heart rate decrease or increase? Did you complete more star jumps/burpees as you went along? • You will need some help with this one, so perhaps you could get someone from a classmate after school. Your homework is due back on Friday, 21st March 2014
