  22. Artist’s statementMy interest in developing skills in Graphic Design came of result of being motivated by the works of Graphic Designers. I related their works with how I envision materializing ideas that have no physical structure, such as representing audio rhythm or tempo in a non-musical notation. My goal is to create unique but appealing visual interpretations of ideas the viewer can easily understand. My strengths are in making elaborate patterns that are reminiscent of “Art Nouveau” style. They are often created to intertwine a single unit. I like to use a lot of strong black lines complemented by great negative space to create an impact on the viewer. The graphite pencil is a transformation tool that I often use. I feel I have direct control over the creation it makes. I can edit and alter immediately on whatever I have created. It is the fastest way for me to put down my design and type ideas. I feel extremely accomplished when my visual interpretations are final. If the image is capable of speaking for itself, I know that it has been successful. It then can act as another voice of mine. But ultimately the goal is to represent ideas that lead the viewer to create thought and emotion.
