My Journey: From High School Athlete to College Freshman at Western Michigan University

I'm Matthew John Patrick Sweda, a 19-year-old freshman at Western Michigan University. In high school, I actively participated in sports, notably wrestling and football, where I learned the value of perseverance, even playing a state final with a broken hand. My life has been shaped by significant events, from my athletic experiences to precious moments with friends and family. Now, as I embrace college life in the dorms of Ackley/Shilling Hall with my roommate, Mitchell G. French, I look forward to the adventures ahead.

  1. It’s My Life Matt Sweda3:00 Angie Secor

  2. I will quickly be going over my high school career and my first year of college. My Life In a Nutshell Me and some of my friends.

  3. Introduction • My Name is Matthew John Patrick Sweda. • I am currently 19 years of age. • I attend The Western Michigan University. • I went to Plymouth Canton Education Park.

  4. Introduction continued • In High school I was very active in sports I competed in both wrestling and football. • I really enjoy fishing, it is one of my favorite pass times.

  5. TIMELINES This timeline shows just a few dates in my life. The reason they are up there is because they are dates I hold very important in my life. Each date has helped mold me into the person I am becoming each day. For instance the state finals for football taught me perseverance through pain. I played that game with a broken hand in three spots. I have also changed over the course of this particular school year namely in the area of studying for tests.

  6. Like I have stated earlier, I was very involved in high school athletics. I was worked hard at both wrestling and football. I even had the chance of being nominated to the all state football team (honorable mention). Wrestling however I had to deal with a broken hand as well as nerve damage in my left shoulder. My senior year didn’t go so well in that aspect but my team did make it to the state tourney. High School

  7. WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY I go to Western Michigan University. I am currently a freshman. I live in the dorms, at Ackley/ Shilling hall. My roommate is Mitchell G. French. I love western it is fun.
