Streetcar is also driving a systematic update to all infrastructure. • Along with Duke Energy’s ongoing update to most of their gas facilities and many of their electric facilities, and a similar effort by Cincinnati Bell, Cincinnati Water Works, Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati, will insure that Downtown, Over-The-Rhine, and much of the surrounding area will be in excellent shape and ready for the future.

Current Status • City owns the assets (e.g. streetcar vehicles and the Maintenance and Operations Facility) and is responsible for construction. • SORTA is the FTA grantee, responsible for the overall operations of the streetcar, including startup and reporting on these operations to the FTA, SORTA also provides safety and security oversight.

Current Status • SORTA intends to hire an O&M Contractor to conduct the day to day operations of the streetcar and is currently in the process of developing the O&M RFP • SORTA continues to update the O&M Budget to address new information as the project comes to fruition (e.g. updated vehicle spare part costs, training requirements) • Some costs are dependent on the outcome of the O&M IGA.
