Objectives • TO CREATE A PRODUCT THAT WILL:1. be easy to install and operate. 2. reduce anxiety, stress, and inconvenience due to auto repairs 3. increase the safety of drivers/ passengers 4. save owners money on some motor vehicle repairs. 5. reduce mistaken &/or fraudulent repairs 6. serve as the first major step in on-board system diagnostics 7. make a nice profit for the project team and investors.

Functional Specs • Plug, cable and protocol and processor-to-protocol converter must conform to SAE standards • User input - 4 buttons providing the modes : • Read DTCs and Ams -- Erase codes • Save codes -- Retrieve saved codes • Processor - 68HC11 • Storage memory - 4 MB flash card • LCD display- 40 characters per line and ten lines, backlight • Enclosure – measurements: 4” X 3” X 2” It must be rugged and secure as to prevent damage to the inside, outside and plug
