Basic coverage at no cost to the retiree continues if the retiree has: • 10 years of paid premiums • Premiums paid immediately prior to retiring • MainePERS receives the Application of Retirement within 31 days of termination with effective retirement date in the same period

  7. Are you my dependent? Stepchildren Spouse Children: 6 months to 19 years Children: birth to 6 months Disabled children Children: 19 to 22 years if unmarried full-time student Covered under the same plan
