  2. Problem is Lostness! Solution is the Gospel!

  3. 1 Peter 2.9-10 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light…”

  4. 3 Responses to Lostness: • We could deny our purpose • We can ignore our purpose • We can embrace our purpose

  5. So what does this mean for me? • God relentlessly pursued you, and uses you to continue that relentless pursuit of people.

  6. Revelation 5.9 “And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation…’”

  7. So what does this mean for me? • God relentlessly pursued you, and uses you to continue that relentless pursuit of people. • Our dreams may need to die, so that other people may live.

  8. 1 John 3.16 “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.”

  9. So what does this mean for me? • God relentlessly pursued you, and uses you to continue that relentless pursuit of people. • Our dreams may need to die, so that other people may live. • Our lives must orbit Jesus’ purpose.

  10. 2 Peter 3.9 “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

  11. So what does this mean for me? • God relentlessly pursued you, and uses you to continue that relentless pursuit of people. • Our dreams may need to die, so that other people may live. • Our lives must orbit Jesus’ purpose. • There will be opposition.

  12. 4. There will be opposition • You can always note the activity of God by the opposition present. • The stronger the opposition, the more significant the vitality of the movement is…

  13. Our expression... • We will be a Gospel-centric church in DFW! • We will plant a Gospel-centric church in Seattle.

Acts 13.1-3 1“Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.”
