  1. Global Part Number

  2. Global Part Number • What is the global part number • An easy to understand part numbering system used in SAP to facilitate the various operation of our organization. • Why do we need global part number • Various LF offices in USA, UK and LFE used different presentation for the products • Allow various offices to communicate better • Avoid confusion amongst customers, and between customers and LF

  3. Global Part Number There are different types of part numbering system for overcurrent and overvoltage products Overcurrent Protection LF global part number with maximum 15 characters Overvoltage Protection Retains Harris part number

  4. OVERCURRENT PRODUCTS Overcurrent Protection • FUSES • Cartridge fuses • Sub-miniature fuses • Surface mount fuses • Automotive fuses • Power fuses • Other specialize fuses • Polymer PTC Resettables • Surface mount • Radial lead Fuses PTC resettable

MXE denotes pigtail version without showing the packaging type ie. bulk packed *** “0002” is not a rating but a sequence number, no dot is appended.

  6. Part Number for Fuses How to change from LFE part number to global part number: Two steps: 1. Insert a zero to the prefix of the series number with 3 digits. No change if the series number has a 4 digit string. 2a. Add a dot (decimal) to the back of the rating string if the old number has only 3 characters to form a 4 digit string 2b. Add a zero to the front of sequence string to form a 4 digit string

  7. Part Number for Fuses Step 1. Series number 0 2 1 5 Fuses 215 001 2 1 5 0 1 1 1 1 1 1 Fuseholders 111 501 1 8 1 2 PTCs 1812 L110 1 8 1 2

  10. Part Number for Fuses We should recommend customers to use standard parts instead of different packaging and quantities so that …….. a. Help to reduce confusion during order processing b. Help to reduce our inventory c. Improve deliveries as we manage only one standard type d. Help to bring in more sales as customers must buy more in standard pack. The following examples on each series of the products show the standardtype that we should make use of
