  1. Beats For Sale  Introduction to music:  Frederikus van Workum, professionally known as Freek van Workum, made it onto the music           industry in 2008 when he started selling beats online. Freek came from quite a musical               background. Music was always prominently on hand in his family during his upbringing and           teenage years. In his early teens, Freek developed an interest for rock, metal, punk, hardcore               and other electric guitar based genres. It was to nobodies’ surprise that Freek started playing                   the guitar at the age of fourteen. In addition,healsostartedclassicalpianolessonstheyearhe                   turned eighteen.                                                                                                     Around his 20th birthday hefelloutwiththebandhewasin.Onethingheknewforsureisthat                   he wanted to continue to make music. The only problem was that he was not sure where to                 take his musical abilities next.                                              Becoming a music producer:   Freek was without a band. Solo. It did not take long before he figured that music production                   was a logical step forward. Not only did he possess the musical abilities but it also                 corresponded with his new individual state of musicianship.                                   After a few years of practice with local artists, he started to offer his beats for sale online at                 various outlets. Although                 he had to learn quite a few tools of the trade he became a successful online producer rather                       quickly selling hundreds of beats over the course of a few months.                                               However, he kept raising the bar and was looking to expand to new levels.
