  1. This is a baby 7-month old panda in the Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan, China. The Amazing Disappearing Panda The reasons on how they are dying, how you can help, information on the cute animals, and pictures.

  2. The most cuddly and lovable animal in the world is also currently threatened and endangered. This is an adult male panda in the San Diego Zoo.

  3. Getting to know the Panda • The Giant Panda has a black-and-white furry coat. Adults can be up to 30 inches long and 60 inches tall at the shoulder. Males can weigh up to 253 pounds. Females are smaller than males and may weigh 220 pounds. Giant Pandas live in. Since the 20th century, the Giant Panda has also become a national emblem for China. The panda is on many modern Chinese commemorative silver, gold, and platinum coins.

  4. More on the panda • The Giant Panda has a paw with a thumb and five other fingers. the thumb helps the panda hold the bamboo while eating. • It also has a short tail, approximately 6 in long. • Giant Pandas can usually live to be 20-30 years old in captivity.

  5. Human Influences • Poaching, hunting, pollution, and lack of habitat from development are the main reasons on why they are disappearing. There might be only as few as 1500 pandas in the wild right now. Giant pandas also have a low birthrate. Many conservation companies are fighting to help giant pandas survive in the wild.
