  1. Two Digit by One Digit Multiplication

  2. Mrs. Killion went shopping to buy some candy for her students. The table below has information about the candy she bought.

  3. She bought 5 bags and EACH bag had 15 candies. That’s 5 groups of 15. In order to find out how many total twizzlers she bought, we could multiply 15x5. How many total Twizzlersdid Mrs. Killion buy?

  4. Step 1: Write out your problem.

  5. Step 2: Multiply the ones column. Regroup to carry the tens to the tens column if needed. 5x5 = 25

  6. Step 3: Multiply the bottom factor by the number in the tens place. Then add anything you carried. 5x1=5 5+2=7

  7. Let’s try another… How many total Hershey Kisses does Mrs. Killion have for her class?

  8. Step 1: Write out your problem.

  9. Step 2: Multiply the ones column. Regroup to carry the tens to the tens column if needed. 8x3 = 24

  10. Step 3: Multiply the bottom factor by the number in the tens place. Then add anything you carried. 3x4=12 12+2=14
