  3. Why Use Internet in Libraries? • Extend local collections to include information sources on the Internet (Internet as an information source) • Integrate different L&I services, local and remote information sources using web browser as the common user interface

  5. Why Use Internet in Libraries? • Efficient information delivery • Reach local and remote users • Extend information content to full text, animations and multi-media • Enable resource sharing among libraries • Foster professional development

Why Use Internet in Libraries? • Easy availability of technologies for digitization, indexing, retrieval and dissemination over intranets and the Internet Internet is forcing libraries to move from‘Holdings’ model of information provision to ‘Access’ model and integrate all resources to which users have access behind a single Web-based interface
