Seals Endangerd Species - Marine Conservation

Seals are mostly found in coasts and cold waters. Unfortunately, not all seal species are as populous or as secure in their place in the world. Some species or subspecies are barely hanging on. The LIPU marine conservation project aims to protect monk seals and marine birds.

  2. Seals are one of the main groups of mammals. The earless seal also knows as a true seal. True seals are members of the Phocidae seal.

  3. Seals have many interesting Facts There are around 33 species of seals. Seals are found in Arctic and Antarctic waters. Seals have a layer of fat under the skin called blubber

  4. They are also called Crawling seals. The Baikal seal is the only freshwater seal.

  5. Seals live on average for 25 - 30 years. Most of the seals feed on shellfish, seabird, and fish. Seals mainly live in the water, they only come ashore to mate

  6. Seals are fin-footed The smallest seal species is the Baikal seal. The largest seal species is the southern elephant seal Seals use sound to communicate and they can also communicate through movements.
