  3. ב''ה Stories & interesting facts There is a famous story of Rebbetzin Rivkah. Rebbetzin Rivkah became very sick at a young age. The doctor Rebbetzin Rivkah was a very big tzadekes, and gave a lot of tzedakah. She even pawned jewelry that her husband, the Rebbe Maharash suggested that she eat before she davens in the morning. So, from then on, Rebbetzin Rivkah would wake up extra early, Daven, and then eat. When her husband, the Rebbe Maharash heard what she was doing, he said, “it is better to eat so that you can Daven, than Daven so that you can eat.” So from then on, she Davened the first part, ate, and then finished Davening. This is where the idea of saying Brachos in the morning before we eat, came from. gave her, when she did not have anymore money to give to tzedakah. Rebbetzin Rivkah knew the value of the jewelry, but wanted that rather poor people have enough money than her having the jewelry. Here we see how much of a Tzadekes she was, that she even gave up the beautiful jewelry that her husband gave her. From this story we see how much Ahavas Yisroel Rebbetzin Rivkah had. The lesson I personally take from this story is that we have to think about other people, especially poor people, before ourselves. From here we see how Rebbetzin Rivkah cared more aboutthanking Hashem for waking her up, than eating breakfast. The lesson I personally take from this story, is that it is better to eat so that we can daven, than to daven first thing in the morning, in order to eat.

  4. ב''ה Stories & interesting facts One time, Rebbetzin Rivkah came in the Rebbe Maharash’s room to talk to him. As she was walking out, her skirt got stuck in between the door and the wall. She did not want to disturb him, and stayed standing by the door for a few hours while the Rebbe Maharash learnt. When he was finally done, he went to the door to go out. Only then did he notice that she was standing there the whole time. From here we see how much respect Rebbetzin Rivkah had for the Rebbe Maharash, that even though she had other things to do, she waited until he was done to open the door again. When Rebbetzin Rivkah heard that one of her sons had gone to business instead of going to learn Torah, she spent many days crying. When they asked her why she didn’t cry as much when her husband, the Rebbe Maharash passed away at a very young age, she answered, “When my husband passed away, it was what Hashem wanted. But my son going into business instead of going to learn Torah, is not what Hashem wants.” From here we see how much Rebbetzin Rivkah believed that all that Hashem does is good, and how much she wanted her children to become Talmidei Chachamim. Rebbetzin Rivkah dedicated her life to the bachurim of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimin and made sure that they all understood what they learnt and had enough to eat.

  7. ב''ה Rebbetzin Rivkah Rebbetzin Rivkah was a very special lady. She had a lot of Ahavas Yisroel, and cared for every person. We can learn many lessons from her. The lesson I personally take from Rebbetzin Rivkah, is that in all of the stories of Rebbetzin Rivkah I know, the lesson we learn from it has to do with serving Hashem properly, or having Ahavas Yisroel, we should try to have more Ahavas Yisroel, daven with more kavanah, and serve Hashem with simcha, which is what we are doing-bringing people closer to yidishkeit, and bring Moshiach NOW!
