  1. PHYLOGEOGRAPHY, POPULATION DEMOGRAPHY AND COLONIZATION HISTORY OF GREY-SIDED VOLE (MYODES RUFOCANUS) WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO PLEISTOCENE REFUGIUMS Tat’yana V. Petrova, A.A.Lissovskiy, E.N. Dokuchaev, N.I. Abramson. MAPEEG – 2009 INTERNATIONAL MEETING

  2. Population isolation in separate glacial refugia is reflected in divergence and intraspecific differentiation PLEISTOCENEGLACIATIONS ??? Absence of differenciation induced with periodical species range shifts and population mixing

  3. Material collection 244voles from 71 locality 229 cytochrome b sequences (37 sequences from GenBank) 77 SRYsequences (14 sequences from GenBank)

  4. NJ – Kimura 2-parameter 2000 replicates 97

  5. Haplotype median-joining network

  6. E C C A F SRY haplotypes distribution D G B

  7. Colonization history and population demography

  8. Sakhalin and Hokkaido Islands population demography Hokkaido Island Sakhalin Island • several colonizations ? • not enough time • for the genetic drift ? «founder effect» According to SRY data Islands are genetically identical, but cytochrome b analysis shows us great differences. It may be the result of more active dispersion of males compared to females.

  9.
