  1. CHARITY ORGANISATIONS IN MY COUNTRY

  2. The Foundation for Children with Leukemia was established in 1998.Prior to this, children with leukemia were treated at the Social Security Government Hospital.

  3. Every year in Turkey we see 1000 - 1500 new cases of children diagnosed with leukemia.

  4. Families with limited financial resources may be forced to make a difficult decision-that of choosing to support their healthy child, or their child who has leukemia. LÖSEV helps to shoulder this unexpected financial burden. However, not only does it aim to provide income for these little heroes, it also endeavours to communicate the problems of our children and their families to society in order to create awareness of leukemia.

  5. THE CITY FOR THE CHILDREN WITH LEUKEMIA

  6. Why A Necessity? • BECAUSE  Cancer diseases have started to become more common among children. Every year more than a million children in the world and approximately 1200 children in Turkey are under the risk of being afflicted by leukemia. On the other hand, WHO warns us: There will be a 60% increase in cancer diseases by 2020.

  7. BECAUSE  During the treatment of leukemia hygiene, nutrition and staying in touch with life are equally important as medication. Children should not conceive of hospitals as a place where they will be treated for approximately three years, but as an entertaining playschool and a warm home. • BECAUSE  At birth a child cannot choose between poverty or wealth and between being healthy or ill. Nor can he/she choose the place to be treated. Whereas according to the Children’s Rights Agreement, every child should have the right to live and be treated under equal circumstances and state patronage.
