Our Context SD8 is comprised of 6 Families of Schools throughout a vast geographic area, in 12 separate communities. Many of our schools are small rural schools in relatively isolated communities We presently serve about 5,000 students
Our Current Learning Networks • are created from: • an in-depth analysis of our evidence of student learning • evidence based goals from school improvement plans • our Board Student expectations (creativity and imagination, citizenship, resiliency and academic success) • are a combination of face-to-face meetings supported by SD8Learns • are based on the concept of team learning and capacity building over time • Include but are not limited to: • Critical Thinking • Reducing the Gender Gap • Early Learning • Leadership Development • Capacity Building • Read by Grade 3 • District Assessments • Innovative Practise grants
