Differentiated Instruction • The entire class was assigned to read Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. They were told that they would be using VoiceThread to complete their assignments for this particular novel.
Presentation – how it is taught • The teacher will demonstrate the use of voicethread to the wholeclass. • The instructor will lecture the students regarding the features of Voicethread. • Doodling • Five ways to Comment • Uploading images • The instructor will demonstrate the features of Voicethread by using the projector with the laptop for both a visualand audio presentation.
Presentation(cont.) • The teacher will use the laptops from the media center in the classroom or take the wholeclass to the computer lab. • Each students will have an hands-on access. • Students will work independently to browse within VoiceThread to investigate the features. • During this activity the teacher will take a smallgroup of lower level learners to assist them with the walk through of each feature.
Presentation • Provide the students opportunity to create and edit their trailer with feedback from their classmates and teacher • Share completed book trailers on the school library web or wiki page so that everyone in the school can see • Encourage teachers and students in other classes to make comments about the book trailers on the VoiceThreads
Process– how is it done • Students will be placed in to groups to collaborate. • Each group will create a title page to represent the reading title using images. • After the teacher has reviewed and commented, via voicethread, on the title page they can move to the next step of the assignment. (compacting) • Within the group each individual will decide which comment feature they will use to comment on the title page of their classmate’s voicethread. (choice opportunity)
