Welcome to Open House. Opening Activities. Students come into the classroom and prepare for the day’s activities. Math Class – Moose Math English/Language Arts Class – See White Board. Attendance. It is important to be here everyday. Please call the office if your child is out sick.

  1. Welcome to Open House

  2. Opening Activities • Students come into the classroom and prepare for the day’s activities. • Math Class – Moose Math • English/Language Arts Class – See White Board

  3. Attendance • It is important to be here everyday. • Please call the office if your child is out sick. • Please send a note with your child when he/she returns. • Send note ahead of time if you know your child is going to be out. • Students are responsible for asking for the make-up work.

  4. Tardies and Early Dismissals • Please send a note to be turned into the office. • Doctor/Dentist appointments: Please try to make them early morning or after school.

  5. Tuesday Folders • Folders are sent home weekly • Please review your child’s work in the folders. • Notice any items marked on the folder sheet. • Sign and return the folders on Wednesday, the next day.

  6. Homework • Teaches students to be responsible • Practice skills introduced in class • Students write assignments in Agenda. HW is every night. • Parent signs agenda every night • Math HW is completed in the Math spiral • Missing Homework – Teacher will mark missing work in the agenda. Your student should complete late work the following night and show the teacher.

  7. Progress Reports • Come home in the Tuesday Folder at the midpoint of the nine weeks • Please sign and return these reports the next day. • Gives you information on how your child is doing in class.

  8. Discipline • Respect to all • Phone Call • Students need to understand the consequences for the choices they make. • Positive incentives and rewards • Golden Tickets • Cafeteria Manners

  9. Fourth Grade Curriculum • Academic Areas: Reading, Language, Composition, Math, Science, Social Studies • Pacing and expectations (TEKS/state expectations) • STAAR Tests • Writing April 2ndand 3rd • Math April 23rd • Reading April 24th

  10. Recess • A time for students to socialize with their peers • Free Time is given after recess and is a privilege.

  11. School Supplies • Students started the year with the supplies listed for Brill fourth graders. • Please replace items throughout the year as needed. • Students share desks, so they need to be responsible for keeping their desk organized. • Having the correct supplies assures that your child is prepared for class.
