State-of-the-art learning environment allowing GS to explore 21st century careers and plan Take Action projects • GSLC Program will fill a gap in program focused on women in leadership & STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers. • Knowledge of STEM is closely linked to success and is a part of every career path. • Girls are giving up early on STEM.

  5. “The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.” - Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts of the USA Founder • Marina Park development includes City of Newport Beach’s Sailing and Community Center, Park and Playground as well as Girl Scouts’ GSLC. • $50 for 50 year land lease from City of Newport Beach • Conditional Use Permit issued by City in August 2013 • MOA for City to manage construction of GSLC, resulting in significant cost savings to GSOC. • ~$3M Capital Campaign in 2014 to construct 6,000sf facility • Opportunities for girls & volunteers to provide input on Program

  6. Evening & overnight GSOC troop usage • GS Program linked to Journeys plus experience Newport Beach! • Exciting multi-media, interactive programming • Learn importance of STEM while exploring careers • Explore global Take Action projects while learning to develop one of your own involving STEM
