Value-Driven Healthcare – ePrescribing Initiative • Collaboration between the auto companies, • Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) and Health • Alliance Plan (HAP) in 2006 • Over 2.8 million eRx generated to date by over • 1,200 physicians. • Henry Ford Medical Group rollout complete • Huron Valley Physician Association (HVPA) • United Physicians / Premier Physicians Network--Beaumont Hospitals

Value-Driven Healthcare – eRx—the Benefits • Patients now avoid potential complications due to drug interactions • Saves healthcare dollars by using generics • Michigan has received national recognition • Newt Gingrich gave testimony to HAP’s eRx Initiative • Congress last year recognized eRx as innovative • and best practice • This past June, HAP shared with House Health Policy • Committee impacts of eRx on: • Prevention • Reducing health care costs • Information technology • Quality

Value-Driven Healthcare – More CollaborationThe Chrysler Group—Diabetes Initiative • Objective: • Assist diabetic Chrysler employees at the • Auburn Hills facility with HgA1C > 7 • To gain greater control of blood sugars • To live healthier through care management with • Certified Diabetic Educators • The Results? • Pilot concluded 1st quarter of ’06, • Participants achieving blood sugar control increased • from 68% to 77% • Participant knowledge of diabetes increased by 18.6% • 93% of participants were satisfied— • felt the program enhanced their quality of life • Next Steps? • The program is being rolled out to additional • Chrysler worksites

Member-focused Wellness Programs – Real Benefits for Real People Weight Management Program • HAP expanded the nutritional counseling benefit beyond members with a chronic illness making this service available to all HAP members. • Discounts at Global Fit • HAP HMO members now can also join Curves and save 50% off the total enrollment fee • HAP HMO members who attend Curves at least nine times a month • HAP reimbursed Curves $10 toward their monthly dues for up to 12 consecutive months • 1,025 enrolled in two (2) months!

Member-focused Wellness Programs – Real Benefits for Real People Weight Management Program • Partnered with Weight Watchers to provide a low-cost opportunity for HAP HMO members • Partnership goes beyond the simple discounts offered by other health plans—why? • On July 1, HAP HMO plan members can join a Weight Watchers (12-week session for just $25) * HAP pays the balance for a total of four 12-week sessions —if member stays engaged * HAP members are developing healthy eating habits to last a lifetime * Demonstrates HAP’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles—the results? 4,100 enrolled since July • No other Michigan health plan offers Weight Watchers for just $25
